D’Lynne (Debra Lynne) Stone
D’Lynne Stone left this world to meet her Lord on Sunday morning, September
21, 2003,at 12:52am surrounded by the family and friends she loved and
held dear. By her side were her husband of over 32 years, Tom Stone,
as well as her children, brothers, parents, and close friends.
D’Lynne Stone was born Debra Lynne Bellah on January 26, 1951
in Canyon, Texas to Robert A. and Cecile Bellah. After graduating
from Canyon High School, she moved with her parents to Phoenix, AZ in 1969.
She attended Grand Canyon University where she met and married Tom Stone
in 1971. They consequently served together in music ministries in
churches in Phoenix, Arizona; Dallas, Texas; Sherman, Texas; Scottsdale,
Arizona; Turlock, California; and Chandler; Arizona.
D’Lynne followed the passion of her heart in developing ministries in
Small Groups in churches as well. She also served as an administrative
assistant for Grand Canyon University, the Arizona State Music Library,
America West Airlines, JVJ Dairies, and Word of Grace Church in Mesa, Arizona.
She graduated from Arizona State University in 1987 Summa Cum Laude with
a degree in vocal performance and shared her gift of music by singing,
as well as playing the piano and clarinet. D’Lynne was a gifted teacher,
voracious reader and loved knitting, crocheting and cycling.
She is survived by her parents, Robert A. and Cecile Bellah of Lubbock,
Texas; her husband, Tom Stone; 3 brothers- Robert M. Bellah (wife Adrienna)
of Lubbock, Texas; Mike Bellah (wife Charlotte) of Canyon, Texas; Craig
Bellah (wife Patty) of Tempe, Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was mother to 4 children: Christy Mullins of Tempe, Arizona (husband,
Jerry); Karen Stone of Chandler; Kevin Stone of Turlock, California (wife,
Jennifer); and Ken Stone (wife, Mica) of Chandler. She was grandmother
to 5 grandchildren: Landon Lawson, Trenton Stone, Conner Stone, Maggie
Lynne Stone, and Alexis Grace Stone.
D’Lynne lived a life devoted to a dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ.
The strength and dedication to that relationship profoundly affected the
lives of all who met her. Her commitment to Christ and family, and
her unconditional love and acceptance of those she met, will impact lives
for generations to come. She will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at Scottsdale Baptist Church, 2500 N. Scottsdale
Rd, Scottsdale, AZ on Tuesday, September 23 at 10 am in the main auditorium.
The family will receive friends on Monday night from 6 to 8 pm at Scottsdale
Baptist. Funeral arrangements are being made by Falconer Funeral
Home in Gilbert, (480) 892-9411.
