The Best Years Bed and Breakfast Inn
![]() |
Hi.
And welcome to the first bed and breakfast inn dedicated exclusively to
midlifers and located completely in cyberspace. Whether you've come to
have fun (most of us are here at least partly to play),
to just get away, to discover and reaffirm
your identity and passion
in life, to recover from a loss, or to work
through a midlife crisis; I'm glad you're
here.
So put on some grubbies, take your shoes off, and stroll leisurely through the grounds. You'll meet some of my old friends here and my new ones. There's plenty of opportunity to visit with them and me, so come on in and look around. And be sure to sign the guest registry. We want to know who's walking these trails with us. |

Hi. I stumbled on your website by accident while searching the
web for something, anything to help me make sense of what is happening
to me. I am 41--on my second marriage (of almost 10 years)--raising
three children and a stepchild. I have held a job in the same profession
for nearly 20 years. About two years ago, I entered my own personal
"midlife crisis." I had no idea women went through this! It
has been a very difficult time for me--a time of reevaluating what is important
to me--I also am finding that I have the craziest ideas of starting over
in ways that would jeopardize my family and career. The loneliness
and
feelings of not being understood are incredibly strong right now.
I wonder how and where this all will end--and what I will find "on the
other side" of this storm. Your articles and the letters of others
have been very helpful to me, and I will continue on my search for peace,
happiness (or just contentment) and fulfillment in this, the second half
of my life. I just wanted to thank you for this site.
Karen

Onto your site through Jeeves. I surfed around a bit and liked
it, especially the column "Everybody Else." My career came to an
abrupt halt five years ago and I'm still searching for my midlife passion.
I will be 49 in a few months and am seriously considering returning to
college. The ending of my career was the begining of my midlife crisis,
and I believe that has just ended (how long does one last) and I'm
begining again. Everybody Else makes you realize that we are all
in the same boat, just in different places. And many from our
generation are passing on daily are no longer in the boat. I'm just
happy (most of the
time) to be here. I had no idea a website like yours existed.
I'll be back to read more of your columns.
Thanks, Dennis

Dear Mike,
Thank you for welcoming me to your site and appreciation for this galant effort in setting up the site as not only teenagers have problems (pimples, seems minor to the one we confront.
Been Asian, I am surprised that many of the participants face similar issue that I can relate to, but I am anyway more into the modern city life.
With warm regards.

Mike,
I just found your site and will use column material in my course Development
Through the Lifespan.
I also need it. My 49th BD was 5/13. Cheers!
