The Best Years Bed and Breakfast Inn

Hi. And welcome to the first bed and breakfast inn dedicated exclusively to midlifers and located completely in cyberspace. Whether you've come to have fun (most of us are here at least partly to play), to just get away, to discover and reaffirm your identity and passion in life, to recover from a loss, or to work through a midlife crisis; I'm glad you're here.

So put on some grubbies, take your shoes off, and stroll leisurely through the grounds. You'll meet some of my old friends here (people like Meg, Gordon, my sister D'Lynne and wife Charlotte) and my new ones (people like Susanne, Kathy, Truet, Dan and Alice). There's plenty of opportunity to visit with them and me, so come on in and look around. And be sure to sign the guest registry. We want to know who's walking these trails with us.

Mike:

I was "surfing" when I came upon your site. It was real pleasure to see that no, I'm not losing my mind. I'm 41 and have been a cab driver, a school teacher, a photojournalist and customer service representative. I wholeheartedly agree with you that if one is not happy with what we can do now within our means, money will not really alter our pattrens. At this point in my life i'm trying to continue as a freelance photojpurnalist while i "upgrade" my technological skills working nights and trying to market my photoskills during the day. It is not easy and I forgot what sleep felt like. However it is now that I feel closer to fullfiling my life's goals. Thanks and keep up the good work.

"it typically begins with mild twinges of dread, disappointment and restlessness that tiptoe in on little cat feet. Then in some cases, the cat feet turn to elephant feet."

Bingo. This is it!!! It's exactly how I've been feeling. My cat feet haven't turned to elephant feet yet and I'll make sure they don't. Onset of midlife has hit me at 38, I guess at 50 I'll need another reinvention of myself.

Enjoyed the stay at the Bed & Breakfast.

I enjoyed your website, and will return often. Here is an offbeat quote I found years ago, and have used in various speeches. I direct a statewide teen leadership program called, "Tomorrow's Leaders Today." The French actress Bridget Bardot is credited with saying, " too age is depressing, but to ripen is divine." Since I prefer to ripen, I enjoy my middle years. Sincerely, Sue S.
