"Sometimes
the best begins in the middle." |
Updated December 2007 |
Hi. I'm
Mike Bellah, pictured here on Wheeler Peak, at 13,161 feet the highest
point in New Mexico. Mountain climbing is just one of the new gifts I discovered
in the wake of my midlife crisis. There are many others, which you can
read about on this site.
You see, I really do believe that our middle years can become the best ones yet. That's why, for a number of years, I wrote "Midlife Moments"--little essays on various midlife topics, which appeared weekly in The Amarillo Daily News. My goal was to make these pieces sometimes funny, sometimes practical, sometimes thoughtful, and always hopeful. I stopped writing for the paper in January 2000, but I still have most of the articles here on the Web for you to enjoy free of charge. And, in January, 2004, I started adding new columns, never before published, to this site. Some still deal with midlife issues; others cover a wide range of topics, from a series of essays on The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis to some patriotic and political articles. Also, my doctoral dissertation is linked to my Facts Page. So I'm glad you stopped by; enjoy your stay, and I look forward to hearing from you. mike@bestyears.com |
