"Sometimes
the best begins in the middle." |
Hi. I'm
Mike Bellah, pictured here on Wheeler Peak, at 13,161 feet the highest
point in New Mexico. Mountain climbing is just one of the new gifts I discovered
in the wake of my midlife crisis. There are many others, which you can
read about on this site.
You see, I really do believe that our middle years can become the best ones yet. That's why, for a number of years, I wrote "Midlife Moments"--little essays on various midlife topics, which appeared weekly in The Amarillo Daily News. You'll find serious midlife issues here, such as Overcoming Midlife Affairs or When Teens Rebel. Then, there are lighter pieces like Confessions of an Old Tuba Player and Finally Ready for Y2K. And, if you like nostalgia, check out "Everything I Ever Needed to Know in Life I Learned in Boy Scouts or My First Bicycle. Finally, in August, 2008, I started a Best Years Blog where you can read the new stuff I'm writing, respond to old columns on Best Years and ask any questions you have for me. So I'm glad you stopped by; enjoy your stay, and I look forward to hearing from you. (Best Years Blog) |
